The Bryan College Women's Basketball Team hosted the Lady Skyhawks of Point University on Wednesday evening in a conference game. The Lady Lions led the entire game and won by a final score of 62-52.

Bryan jumped out on an 8-0 run to start the game. Bryan's largest lead of the half came at the break as they led 31-19. The Lady Lions scored the first four points to start the second half. However, Point countered that with a 12-0 run to get back in the game. The Lady Skyhawks cut the lead all the way down to one point, 37-36, but that was as close as Bryan would allow them to get. The Lady Lions then rattled off eight straight points to get some separation. They continued to build the lead, their largest of the night being 19 points (62-43) with just over two minutes left in the game.

Bryan Head Coach Jason Smith commented after the game, "Our team really needed a burst of energy, and I felt that the moment was right for Shea Thomas to see her first playing time of the season since tearing her ACL. She provided instant inspiration with her assists and three-pointer. She deserved the moment as much as our team needed it."

Bryan shot 41.2% from the floor for the game, while holding Point to just 32.2% for the game. The Lady Lions tallied 35 rebounds, four less than their opponent. Bryan recorded 21 turnovers for the game, but forced Point into 22.

Morgan Burnette was the leading scorer for game with 19 points. She was also the Lady Lions' leading rebounder with 8 for the game. Anna Thomas finished with 14 points and 4 steals. Bethany McArthur added 10 points. Kelsey Brooks had a game high 5 assists.

The Lady Lions are now 11-6 overall and 2-4 in conference play. They play again on Saturday in a conference game at Bluefield College. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00pm ET.
