The Bryan College Men's Basketball Team traveled to Union College to take on the Bulldogs in a conference game on Saturday evening. The Lions scored the last eight points of the game to win by a final score of 73-66.
The two teams went back and forth for the first eight minutes of the game. Then the Lions built up their largest lead of the half at nine points. The Bulldogs got back within one point. The two teams went into halftime with the score 31-28, in favor of Bryan. Union started the second half on a 16-3 run to go up 10 points. The Lions followed that with an 8-0 run to get right back into the game, but did not take the lead back until 1:51 remaining. Bryan was down 66-65 with 1:30 on the clock before rattling off the last eight points of the game for the win.
The Lions shot 47.1% from the floor for the game, and the Bulldogs shot 40%. Both teams recorded 31 rebounds for the game. Bryan tallied 10 turnovers, while forcing their opponent to 16 turnovers. The Lions finished with 10 steals for the game.
Dion Fair led the Lions in scoring with 16 points. Lavonte Henderson had 14 points, a team high eight rebounds, and a team high six assists. Rob Riley finished with 13 points. Alan Holt had 12 points.
The Lions are now 10-12 overall and 5-3 in the AAC. They play again on Wednesday in a conference game at home verse Tennessee Wesleyan College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
