Baseball - Mon, Apr. 30, 2012
Bryan College's Adam Sanders was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. He received this honor for his performances on the mound for the week of April 22-28. Sanders pitched in three games during the week, earning two saves in two opportunities. He struck out two batters and gave up only one hit in three innings of work. The two saves were his sixteenth and seventeenth of the season, which leads the NAIA. Sanders' sixteenth save broke the AAC record for saves in a season, and he is now second in the record book for the NAIA.
Sanders will look to help lead the Lions through the AAC Tournament this week. The #2 Lions' first game will be played Tuesday at 5:00pm ET against #7 Bluefield College. The tournament is being held at the Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tenn.
