In the first set the two teams were battling back and forth. The score was 19-17 in favor of Bryan before the Lady Lions rattled off five straight points. The Lady Cavaliers scored one more point, and then the Lady Lions closed the set at 25-18.
In set two, Montreat jumped out to a 3-0 lead and were up 19-15. Bryan then went on a six-point tear to take over the lead. The Lady Cavaliers were able to keep the score close, but the Lady Lions were able to hold them off and win the set 25-23.
Bryan lost the third set 25-20. The Lady Lions trailed by one to three points through most of the match. The Lady Cavaliers were up 22-20 before scoring the final three points for their only win.
The Lady Lions were determined to win the fourth set and close out the match. They jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Their largest lead of the set was 17-7. After that point, Bryan cruised through the rest of the set to win 25-18.
The Lady Lions were led by their two middle blockers. Carolyn Evans and Meghan Lowry finished with 15 kills apiece. Lowry hit .600 for the match, while Evans hit .483 through the four sets. Taylor Fink had a game high 43 assists. Bridgette O'Brien and Corrie Walker led the team in digs with 16 apiece. Madison Akins added 14 digs.
