The Bryan College men's basketball team hosted the Virginia Intermont College Cobras on Saturday in a conference game. The two teams fought back and forth in a close first half as the Lions trailed 38-37 going into the break. In the second half, the Cobras caught fire, shooting almost 70% from the floor, to pull away and win 89-78.
The Lions shot 40.9% from the floor for the game, while the Cobras shot 52.8%. Bryan tallied 35 rebounds, 3 less than their opponent.
Tim Fortenberry led the Lions in scoring with 17 points. Robert Troino added with 16 points. Rafael Tyler finished with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and a team high 4 assists. Brandon Cole also had 10 points to go along with his team high 3 steals. Alan Holt led the team in rebounding with 8 boards, while Rob Riley was right behind him with 7 boards.
The Lions are now 5-10 overall and 1-2 in the AAC. They play again on Tuesday in a conference game at Milligan College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
