The Bryan College men's basketball team hit the road on Tuesday to take on the Buffaloes of Milligan College in a conference game. The Lions led at halftime 34-33. The game remained close throughout the second half and came down to the final seconds to decide the winner. Milligan scored a basket to take a one-point lead with 35 seconds remaining. Bryan came down the floor, missed a shot, got the offensive rebound, and called a timeout with 16 seconds remaining. The Lions missed their shot attempts and fouled immediately. The Buffaloes made one of two of their free throw attempts to go up two points with 5 seconds remaining. Bryan was unable to get a shot attempt off, losing by a final score of 78-76.
The Lions shot 51.7% from the floor for the game, while the Buffaloes shot 46.9%. Bryan tallied just 23 rebounds, 14 less than their opponent. The Lions won the turnover battle.
Brandon Cole had a game high 19 points and a team high 6 rebounds. Tim Fortenberry and Rob Riley had 14 points apiece. Fortenberry had a team high 6 assists, while Riley had 5 rebounds. Robert Troino finished with 13 points. Carrin Nash added 10 points.
The Lions are now 5-11 overall and 1-3 in the AAC. They play again on Thursday in a conference game at Point University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
