The Bryan College men's basketball team hosted the Knights of St. Andrews University on Saturday evening. The Lions jumped out to an 8-0 run to start the game. The Knights cut the lead down to one point, but the Lions held them off and began to pull away late in the first half. Bryan went into the locker room at halftime leading 40-27. In the second half, the Lions continued to pull away. Bryan won by a final score of 89-60.
The Lions shot 37.5% from the floor for the game, while holding the Knights to shooting just 29.4%. Bryan tallied 50 rebounds, 3 more than their opponent. The Lions won the turnover battle by 13 and recorded 15 steals for the game.
The Lions had five different players score double digits. Derrick Walker led the way with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. Rob Riley also had 18 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Robert Troino finished with 14 points. Brandon Cole and Carrin Nash added 10 points apiece. Cole also had 7 rebounds and 4 steals, while Nash had 6 rebounds.
The Lions are now 7-11 overall and 3-3 in the AAC. They play again on Wednesday in a conference game at Reinhardt University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
