The Bryan College men's basketball team hosted the Milligan College Buffaloes on Saturday. Going into the game, the Lions were trailing the Buffaloes for second place in the AAC by a game and a half. The two teams swapped the lead back and forth six times in the first half. Late in the half, the Buffaloes built their lead up to nine points and went into the locker room leading at the break 36-31. In the second half, the two teams swapped the lead seven times. The Lions took the lead for good with 4:41 remaining in the game. They built their lead up to seven points and won by a final score of 71-67.
The Lions shot 41.9% from the floor for the game, while the Buffaloes shot 40.8%. Bryan won both the rebounding battle and the turnover battle.
Rob Riley led the Lions with a game high 25 points and 6 rebounds. Brandon Cole recorded his fourth career double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing a game high 13 rebounds. Tim Fortenberry had a game high 4 assists to go with his 8 points. Derrick Walker finished with 7 points and 9 rebounds. Rafael Tyler added 7 points.
The Lions are now 12-12 overall and 8-4 in the AAC. They play again on Wednesday at home against Point University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
