The Bryan College men's basketball team took the long trip to St. Andrews University to take on the Knights in a conference battle. The Lions jumped out to 14-3 lead to start the game. They led by as many 15 points in the first half. The Knights cut the lead all the way down to three points as the two teams went into the break with the score 44-41. Bryan built their lead up to 11, but St. Andrews then went on an 11-0 run to tie the score for the first time in the game. The Lions followed that with a six-point run to take control back. Bryan's largest lead of the second half was that of the final score, 79-68.
The Lions shot 44.9% from the floor for the game, while the Knights shot 37.9%. Bryan outrebounded their opponent 51-34. The Lions won the turnover battle by one.
Rob Riley led the Lions with a game high 23 points and a game high 15 rebounds. Derrick Walker finished 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Robert Troino and Carrin Nash added 10 points apiece. Tim Fortenberry had a game high 5 assists to go with his 8 points. Rafael Tyler had 7 points and 4 assists, and Brandon Cole had 6 points and 6 rebounds.
The Lions are now 13-13 overall and 9-5 in the AAC. They enter the last week of the regular season in a tie for second place in the conference. The Lions play again on Wednesday in their final home game of the season against Reinhardt University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
