The Bryan College men's basketball team hosted the Eagles of Reinhardt University on Wednesday night for their final home game of the season. The Eagles jumped out to a 9-0 lead to start the game. The Lions were able to cut the lead down to one point, 19-18, but went into the locker room trailing 36-31. In the second half, Reinhardt built their lead up to as many as 13 points. Bryan cut the lead down to four points, 72-68, with 1:06 remaining. However, the Eagles scored the final four points of the game, and the Lions lost by a final score of 76-68.
The Lions shot 41.0% from the floor for the game, while the Eagles shot 46.6%. Bryan outrebounded their opponent by eight, but lost the turnover battle by two.
Derrick Walker led the Lions with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Brandon Cole finished 14 points and 6 rebounds. Carrin Nash recorded 12 points and 7 rebounds. Robert Troino added 10 points. Tim Fortenberry and Rob Riley had 7 points apiece. Fortenberry also had 6 rebounds.
The Lions are now 13-14 overall and 9-6 in the AAC. They enter the last game of the regular season in a three-way tie for second place in the conference. The Lions play that final game on Saturday at Union College. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00pm ET.
