The Bryan College men's basketball team went on the road to take on the Bulldogs of Union College on Saturday in the final game of the season. The Bulldogs scored first and built up an eight-point lead. The Lions came back and built a lead of seven points. However, Union scored the last 14 points of the half and took a 43-36 lead into the break. In the second half, the Bulldogs pulled away, building their lead up to as many as 21 points and won by a final score of 78-58.
The Lions shot 33.3% from the floor for the game, while the Bulldogs shot 42.6%. Bryan lost the rebounding battle and the turnover battle.
Derrick Walker led the Lions with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Robert Troino hit four three-pointers and finished with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Tim Fortenberry added 8 points. Carrin Nash recorded 6 points. Brandon Cole tallied 5 points and 5 rebounds.
The Lions finish the regular season with an overall record of 13-15 and an AAC record of 9-7. They enter the AAC tournament as the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 Union College in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:15pm ET. The AAC Tournament is being held at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
