The Bryan College baseball team traveled to Campbellsville, Ky., to take on the Tigers of Campbellsville University in a doubleheader. The Lions lost game one 4-0 and then lost game two 5-3. The Lions are now 14-10 overall.
In game one, the Tigers scored a run in the 1st inning to take an early lead. They added another run in the 3rd and then two more in the 6th inning.
In game two, the Tigers scored a run in the 1st inning and two runs in the 2nd to jump out on top. The Lions were able to get one back in the 3rd inning. Campbellsville added two more in the 4th inning. Bryan got two runs in the 5th inning off of a two-run homerun by Blake Johnson.
Blake Johnson led the offense with two RBIs, one hit, and one run scored off of his homerun. Cody Rhinehart finished with one hit and one RBI. Hunter Tipton and Joey Underwood recorded one hit and scored one run apiece.
Crandon Wallace started on the mound and received the loss. He gave up three runs and one hit in one and two-thirds innings of work. Kevin Carr finished the second inning, walking one batter and then striking out one. Adam Sanders pitched the next two innings. He gave up two runs and three hits. Isaac Meyers pitched the 5th inning and gave up no hits or runs. Dylan Culver pitched the 6th, and final, inning. He gave up one hit and no runs.
The Lions play again this weekend against Tennessee Wesleyan College. The single 9-inning game is scheduled for 6:00pm ET on Friday. Then on Saturday, the doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00pm ET.
