The Bryan College baseball team hosted Lee University on Tuesday evening. The Flames are currently the No. 2 ranked team in the NAIA. The Lions lost the game 13-3. They are now 24-21 on the season and 7-11 in the AAC.
The Flames scored three runs in the first inning, three in the second, and one in the third to jump out to a big lead early. The Lions got two runs in the third inning off a two-run homerun by Josh Harris. Lee added two more runs in the fourth. Bryan scored their final run in the sixth inning. The Flames crossed the plate four times in the seventh to conclude the scoring.
Josh Harris led the offense with three hits, three RBIs and one run scored. Grant Zawadzki finished with two hits and one run scored. Chris Jeffries recorded one hit and one run scored. Lucas Jolley, Kevin Layne, Cody Rhinehart, and Andrew Smith added one hit apiece.
John Cain started on the mound for the Lions and received the loss. He gave up nine runs, six earned, and nine hits in four innings of work. Hunter Tipton pitched the fifth inning and gave up one hit and no runs. Isaac Meyers threw the sixth inning and got out the three batters that he faced. Dylan Culver pitched the seventh inning and gave up four runs and three hits.
The Lions play again this weekend at Milligan College. The nine-inning game is scheduled to start at 6:00pm ET on Friday, and the doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00pm ET on Saturday.
