The Bryan College Lions competed at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday in Johnson City, Tenn.  Four Lions were crowned Conference Champions and 10 were named to the AAC All-Conference Team.

On the women's side, freshman Sarah White led off the wins for the day with a personal best in the 400m.  She ran 1:00.80 for her first conference championships.  She beat the nearest competitor by almost 4 seconds for the long sprint.  Jessica Stockton also became a conference champion by winning the 5000m.  She set a personal best for the 3rd race in a row with her 19:03.19.  Andrea Spencer was a two time All-Conference athlete in both the 800m and 1500m.  She finished 3rd in the 1500m with a 5:09.58 and 2nd in the 800m with her 2:26.92.  Elle Fields also competed in the 100m and 400m and scored personal bests in each.

The men's team also had two conference champions.  The first came in the 1500m, where Alex Stephens finished in 4:02.43.  He was followed by fellow Lions Anthony Simpson, Connor Hatfield, and Jason McLeod in 3rd through 5th.  Simpson and Hatfield were both awarded All-Conference honors and both set personal bests of 4:06.01 and 4:07.56, respectively.

Freshman Tim Sigmon was the other Lion to cross the finish line in victory with his win in the 5000m, putting almost 20 seconds on the field.  Matt Jenkins and Anders Clarke finished 4th and 5th, respectively.

In the men's 800, Madison Yates and Joel Johnston were awarded All-Conference honors for finishing 2nd and 3rd in the race.  Jacob Shelton also raced, finishing 8th overall.

Caleb Cobb set a personal best in the 400m with his 55.02 for 8th overall.

Yates, Johnston, Simpson and Stephens came back in the 4x400m relay to finish 3rd in 3:33.94.

The Lions race again at the Sewanee Mountain Laurel Invitational on Saturday, April 20.
