The Bryan College baseball team hosted Tennessee Temple University on Tuesday night. The Lions scored two runs in the first inning. The Crusaders scored their first run in the fourth inning and then crossed the plate three times in the fifth inning. Bryan scored four runs in the fifth inning and one in the sixth inning to win by a final score of 7-4.
Grant Zawadzki led the offense with three hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Joey Underwood recorded two hits, one RBI, and one run scored. Cody Rhinehart finished with two hits and one RBI. Hunter Tipton notched one hit and one RBI. Kevin Layne added one RBI. Zach Hensley had three hits and scored two runs.
Josh Harris started on the mound for the Lions and earned the win. He gave up four runs, three earned, and five hits in five innings of work. Kevin Carr pitched the sixth inning and gave up no hits or runs. Isaac Meyers threw the seventh inning and gave up just one hit. Dylan Culver pitched the next inning and gave up no hits or runs. Hunter Tipton took the ninth inning and gave up two hits but no runs.
The Lions are now 27-23 overall. They play again this weekend in their final weekend series at Point University. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 3:00pm ET on Friday, and the single nine-inning game is scheduled to start at 1:00pm ET on Saturday.
