The Bryan College baseball team just competed against Virginia Intermont College in the AAC Tournament. The Lions were the No. 7 seed and the Cobras are the No. 6 seed. Bryan lost the game by a final score of 5-4 in the 10th inning. The Lions end the season with an overall record of 31-26.
The scoring began in the fifth inning as the Lions crossed the plate three times and the Cobras crossed it twice. Bryan scored a run in the seventh inning to extend their lead. However, Virginia Intermont scored two runs in the eighth to tie the score. The game went into extra innings. The Cobras were able to get a run in the tenth inning to get the win.
Joey Underwood led the offense with two hits, two RBIs, and one run scored. Josh Harris finished with one hit and two RBIs. Chris Jeffries recorded one hit and two runs scored. Zach Hensley, Kevin Layne, and Cody Rhinehart had one hit apiece. Blake Johnson scored the other run.
John Cain started on the mound and pitched four and one-third innings. He gave up two runs, one earned, and one hit. Hunter Tipton finished the fifth inning and threw the following three innings. He gave up two runs and two hits. Isaac Meyers started the ninth and gave up a hit. Dylan Culver came in and hit the batter. Kenny Knudsen then came in and got the Lions out of the inning. He also pitched the tenth inning and gave up a hit and a run to receive the loss.
