The Bryan College men's basketball team hosted the Union College this evening. The two teams swapped the lead four times and there were four ties in the first half. The Lions trailed 32-27 at the break. The Bulldogs led the entire second half. Union built their lead up to as many as 13 points. Bryan cut the lead all the way down to one point, 49-48, with two and a half minutes remaining but was unable to take the lead. The Bulldogs hit two free throws with a minute remaining to make the score 51-48. Neither team scored a basket in the final minute of the game. The Lions are now 8-10 overall and 4-4 in the AAC.
Derrick Walker led the Lions with a game high 15 points, a game high 15 rebounds, and a game high 4 steals. Brandon Cole finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Bryan Landers finished with 10 points. Robert Troino added 6 points.
Bryan shot 35.6% from the floor, while Union shot 32.8%. The Lions won the battle on the boards 43-36 but lost the turnover battle 24-15.
The Lions play again Wednesday at Truett-McConnell College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
