The Bryan College baseball team played a single nine inning game at Georgia Gwinnett College tonight. The Grizzlies scored three runs in the first inning. They added two more in the fourth inning. The Lions scored their first run in the sixth inning. GGC scored another run in the seventh and three runs in the eighth. Bryan scored six runs in the ninth inning in a comeback attempt, but fell short by a final score of 9-7. The baseball team is now 2-6 on the season.
Cody Rhinehart led the offense with three runs batted in, three hits, and one run scored. Crandon Wallace and Grant Zawadzki finished with one RBI, one hit, and one run scored apiece. Tyler Latham recorded one RBI and one hit. Joey Underwood tallied three hits and two runs scored. Preston King and Ethan Lents added one hit and one run scored each. Justin Morhardt added one hit.
LJ Rowden started on the mound for the Lions and received the loss. He gave up five runs, four earned, and three hits in six innings pitched. Rowden struck out four batters. Chad Burrows pitched two-thirds of an inning and gave up one run and one hit. Isaac Meyers finished the last third of the seventh and threw the first two-thirds of the eighth inning. He gave up three runs and two hits. Kyle Paulson finished the eighth inning, giving up one hit.
The Lions play again tomorrow at Georgia Gwinnett College. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00pm ET.
