The Bryan College men's basketball team hosted the Cavaliers of Montreat College tonight. The Cavaliers led for the majority of the first half, but the Lions kept it close. Bryan was down 35-34 at intermission. The Lions hit a three pointer to start the second half to take the lead. However, the Cavaliers scored the next twelve points to take control for the remainder of the game. Bryan fought hard down the stretch to make it a close game, outscoring Montreat 8-2 in the final 1:45. The Lions had an opportunity to win the game at the buzzer but were unable to get the shot attempt or tip-in attempt to fall through the hoop. The Bryan men are now 14-13 overall and 9-7 in the AAC.
The Lions shot 37.9% from the floor, while the Cavaliers shot 40.0% for the game. Bryan won the battle on the boards 51-41 but lost the turnover battle by 6.
The Lions play again on Wednesday at Union College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
