The Bryan College baseball team played a single nine-inning game at St. Andrews University today. The second inning proved to be an offensive inning as both teams produced four runs. The Knights scored a run in the third inning, and the Lions tied the game in the fourth inning. Bryan crossed the plate four times in the fifth inning. St. Andrews scored a run in the seventh inning. Both teams scored one run in the ninth inning. The Lions won 10-7 and are now 16-10 overall and 6-1 in the AAC.
Cody Rhinehart led the offense with three runs batted in, three hits, and one run. Joey Underwood finished with two RBIs, three hits, and two runs scored. Crandon Wallace recorded one RBI, three hits, and three runs scored. Tyler Latham tallied one RBI and two hits. Kevin Roberts ended the game with one RBI, one hit, and one run scored. Grant Zawadzki added one RBI and one hit. Preston King and Hunter Tipton had two hits. King scored twice and Tipton scored once.
LJ Rowden was the starting pitcher and earned the win. He gave up six runs, five earned, and eleven hits in six and one-third innings. Rowden struck out seven batters. John Cain finished the seventh inning and threw the eighth. He struck out three batters and gave up just one hit. Kenny Knudsen pitched the ninth inning. He gave up one run and two hits.
The Lions play again tomorrow at St. Andrews University. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00pm ET.
