The Bryan College baseball team took the short trip to Athens, Tenn., to compete against Tennessee Wesleyan College today. The Lions' bats started the game on fire as they scored six runs in the first inning. The Bulldogs scored their two runs in the third inning. Bryan added three more runs in the eighth inning to win 9-2. The baseball team is now 19-12 overall and 7-3 in the AAC.
Justin Morhardt and Cody Rhinehart led the offense with two runs batted in, one hit, and one run scored apiece. Crandon Wallace added two RBIs. Grant Zawadzki had a team high three hits to go with his one RBI and one run scored. Hunter Tipton tallied one RBI, two hits, and one run scored. Joey Underwood recorded one RBI and one hit. Tyler Latham finished with one hit. Jared Breazeale, John Cain, Brookes Jones, Preston King, and Kevin Roberts scored one run each.
LJ Rowden pitched the entire game for the Lions and earned the win. He gave up just two runs and eight hits.
The Lions play again tomorrow at Tennessee Wesleyan College. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00pm ET.
