The Lions went 2-1 during their 3 games over the weekend.  They took on Tennessee Temple University and University of Rio Grande on Friday at Temple's home field in Chattanooga, TN.  On Saturday, Rio Grande traveled to Dayton to play the Lions in their first home game of the year.

The Lions fell to Tennessee Temple in their first game of the weekend 2-13.

Will Newman had two of Bryan's five hits for the game. He and Zach Bowe each had an RBI for the two runs that were batted in.

Starting pitcher Daniel Zimmerman received the loss in giving up 10 hits and 10 runs in his 2 & 1/3 innings pitched. Levi Mitchell got the win for Temple.

In the second game of the day, Bryan lost 0-9 to the University of Rio Grande.
 
Jonathan Brown had two of the Lions six hits for the game.
 
Zach Breazeale received the loss for the Lions. He gave up 7 hits and 7 runs in 3 & 1/3 innings pitched. Angel Santiago got the win for Rio Grande.

On Saturday, the Lions took on Rio Grande for their home season opener. After loosing 0-9 the night before, the Lions pulled together and defeated Rio Grande 10-8. The Lions were down 3-7 going into the bottom of the 5th inning. They then scored the next 7 runs between the 5th and 6th innings. Rio Grand knocked in another in the 7th, but the Lions refused to give up any more than that.

Zach Bowe went 3 for 4 for the game, including a homerun and 2 runs batted in. Jordan Day also went 3 for 4 while Matt Hicks went 2 for 2. Jonathan Davis led the team with 3 RBI's.

Starting Pitcher Mark Barnwell got the win for the Lions. Ben Young came in to face the last two batters of the game, striking out one of them and earning the save.

The Lions are now 3-5 overall. They play again this Friday and Saturday in the Bryan College Baseball Invitational. The games will be held at Bryan College's Senter Field and Rhea County High School. The Lions' first game will be Friday morning at 10:00 AM EST against Southeastern University on Senter Field.
