The Bryan College baseball team traveled to Cumberland University for their final game of the regular season. The Lions jumped out to a huge lead after scoring four runs in the first inning and two runs in the second inning. The Bulldogs scored six runs in the third to tie the game, and then scored five runs in the fourth to take the lead. They added another run in the fifth. Bryan scored a run in the seventh inning to lose by a final score of 12-7. The baseball team is now 29-25 on the season.
Crandon Wallace led the offense with two runs batted in and three hits. Cody Rhinehart finished with two RBIs and two hits. Tyler Latham recorded one RBI, two hits, and two runs scored. Justin Morhardt logged one RBI, one hit, and one run scored. Garrison Price had the teams other RBI. Kevin Roberts tallied three hits and two runs scored. Preston King, Kelvin McMiller, and Joey Underwood had one hit apiece. King scored two runs.
Hunter Tipton started on the mound for the Lions and received the loss. He gave up eleven runs and eight hits in three and two-thirds innings of work. Brannon Shortt threw the next two and one-third innings. He gave up one run and one hit. John Cain pitched the final two innings and gave up just one hit.
The Lions play again on Monday in the AAC Tournament. As soon as the opponent and time are finalized it will be announced.
