The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the baseball regular season awards recently. Bryan had five student-athletes receive at least one honor.

Justin Morhardt, from Winstead, Conn., was named the AAC's Freshman of the Year.  He started in 52 games for the Lions this year.  Morhardt hit .317 on the season and had a slugging percentage of .587.  He had a team high 13 homeruns and a team high 50 runs batted in.  He had a fielding percentage of .996.

Kevin Roberts, a junior from Summertown, Tenn., made the AAC All-Conference Team and the AAC Gold Glove Team as an outfielder.  He started in 53 games for the Lions this year.  Roberts hit .388 on the season, had a slugging percentage of .588, and led the team with an on base percentage of .537.  He had a team high 53 runs scored and was second on the team in stolen bases with 22.  Roberts had a fielding percentage of .991.

Tyler Latham, a senior from Spring City, Tenn., was voted as one of two catchers on the AAC All-Conference Team.  He has started in all 56 games for the Lions this year.  Latham hit .337 on the season and led the team in slugging percentage at .596.  He led the team in total bases with 115.  Latham was second on the team in homeruns with 11and tied for second with the most runs batted in with 47.  He had a fielding percentage of .985.

Grant Zawadzki, a senior from Shrewbury, Mass., was the short stop selected for the AAC All-Conference Team.  He started in 54 games for the Lions this year.  Zawadzki led the team in batting average at .411, had a slugging percentage of .584, and an on base percentage of .489.  He had a team high 28 stolen bases, was tied for second in RBIs with 47, and was second in runs scored with 49.

Joey Underwood, a junior from Fruitvale, British Columbia, earned a spot on the AAC Gold Glove Team as the thirdbaseman.  He started in all 56 games for the Lions this year.  Underwood had a fielding percentage of .900.  He hit .329 on the season.
