The Bryan College baseball team competed against Tennessee Wesleyan College again tonight in the AAC Tournament. The Lions are the No. 5 seed in the tournament, while the Bulldogs are the No. 1 seed. Bryan defeated Tennessee Wesleyan 26-3 on Tuesday night, the Bulldogs defeated the Lions last night by a final score of 11-7, and Bryan won today 3-2. The Lions earn one of the conference's automatic qualifiers for the NAIA national tournament and will play Point University in the AAC Tournament at 6:00pm tonight.
Bryan scored two runs in the first inning to take the early lead. Tennessee Wesleyan scored one run in the third inning. The Lions added another run in the sixth inning. The Bulldogs crossed the plate once in the seventh.
Cody Rhinehart led the offense with two runs batted in and two hits. Kevin Roberts finished with one RBI and one hit. Crandon Wallace recorded one hit and one run scored. Tyler Latham and Joey Underwood added one hit apiece. John Cain and Preston King scored one run each.
LJ Rowden started on the mound for the Lions and earned the win. He gave up two runs and ten hits in eight innings of work. Kenny Knudsen pitched the ninth inning to earn the save. He gave up just one hit.
The baseball team is now 32-26 on the season.
