Although the Red Team scored the first run of the Red/White World Series in the top of the 1st inning, the White Team took the lead in the bottom of the first with 4 runs off starter Matt Hicks and never looked back. "We came out focused and ready to play," Red Team Captain Will Newman had to say, "all we had heard about was how good the Red Team's line-up was and I think that helped us concentrate on the task at hand." The White Team scored 4 in the 1st and 9 in the 2nd on their way to a 13-3 victory over the Red Team. "After that first inning, they had all the momentum and we never recovered, " White Team Captain Matt Hicks stated, "I was pitching up in the zone and they made me pay for it."
Game 2 is set to begin on Saturday at 12 pm est.
