ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Tennessee Wesleyan is the favorite once again to win the Appalachian Athletic Conference championship in baseball in 2015, according the AAC preseason coaches' poll released recently.
Tennessee Wesleyan, which won the regular-season crown last season with a 19-8 conference record, received six of the 10 first-place votes in landing the top spot with 88 points. Bryan, which won the AAC Tournament in 2014, collected two first place votes and 75 total points to take the second spot. Reinhardt is third with 57 points and the remaining two first-place tallies. The Eagles finished 2014 as the regular-season runner-up with a 18-9 league mark.
Union (53 points) and Point (48) round out the top five. Milligan (44) is sixth, St. Andrews (34) is seventh, while Bluefield (27), Montreat (21) and Truett-McConnell (12) make up the rest of the list.
The 2015 AAC Tournament is set for May 4-7 at Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tenn.
