Sewanee, TN - Bryan College earned three victories at the Tiger Indoor Classic over the weekend.  The University of the South hosted the event at the Fowler Center on Sewanee's campus.  The small men's squad came away with 46 points to finish 5th, while Samford scored 137 points to take the team title.  Bryan got two individual victories and claimed the 1600 meter relay.
Zach Buffington (SO, Ooltewah,TN) took the men's mile victory with a time of 4:28.68.  He finished behind unattached and non-scoring teammate Bryson Harper (4:24.31).  Harper won the 800 meter run in 1:59.18 as well.  Josh Bradley (JR, Ringgold, GA) grabbed the victory in the men's 400 meter dash at 51.89, a new indoor school record.  He also lead off for the winning and school record setting 4x400 meter relay team that held off Samford 3:31.00 to 3:33.00.  Drew Nunnelly (SO, Cleveland, TN), Colby Smith (SO, Dayton, TN) and Josh Ball (FR, Tellico Plains, TN) ended their busy days with a hand in the relay.

Nunnelly and Ball finished 3rd and 5th in the men's 200 meter dash.  Ball set a new school record in the men's 55 meter hurdle race with a time of 8.37.  Matt Wren (FR, Ooltewah) won section two of the men's mile, just ahead of teammate Hunter Hall (SO, Brentwood, TN) in 4:41.51.

The women were lead by junior Bailey Payne (Pikeville, TN).  Payne won section three of the women's 800 meter run just missing the school record in 2:33.52.  Freshmen Ericka Simpson was second to her teammate in 2:36.12.

"Our young kids are learning how to compete.  I was excited with the men's 4x400 meter relay, each of them did a fantastic job.  Bradley winning the quarter earlier in the day shows that he is beginning to sharpen and should be ready to execute a nice 800 meter race fairly soon.  It may be tough to run fast times at Sewanee given it's only 160 meters, but we accomplished the things we needed to this weekend." Commented head coach Rodney Stoker.
