The Bryan College Men's basketball team traveled 3 hours to Berea College in Kentucky on Tuesday night and was defeated 74-61. The Mountaineers shut down the Lions for the first time this season.
The game was close throughout the first ten minutes of the game as the Lions were led by Brandon Cole and Robert Troino's scoring but the Mountaineers were able to gain control of the game late in the half by dominating the offensive game. Bryan got a put back score just before the half to cut the lead 39-32 going into intermission.
The second half Bryan made several runs to cut the lead to 5 or 6 as Troino made three key 3 point shots and Bryan got some put back scores to stay close. But Berea had an answer for each time Bryan got close and again it was the offensive glass that cost Bryan dearly. In the game Berea had 21 offensive rebounds, which enabled them to eventually prevail 74-61. For the game Brandon Cole had 24 points and 16 boards, Robert Troino had 17 points while Oterriah Lee had 10 points and 8 assists.
