The Lion women only had three women race this weekend but two of them raced to PR's. Jessica Stockton (SR/Front Royal, Va.), who led the Lady Lions, finished with a 19:39, and Sarah White (SR/Cleveland, Ohio) crossed the line in 20:07.
Coach Bradley on Zach Baird's race:
"Zach had a breakout race today. He is just a freshman, and he's still new to this level of training. He's just now understanding how to race the 8k. Zach has a ton of potential, and I look forward to seeing what he can do in the future."
On the team's performance:
"Overall I am pleased with how we did today. Most everyone ran their fastest time for the year, but we still need to improve. With two weeks until conference, we need everyone to step up, especially our upperclassmen."
The Lions race again at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Meet on November 7, at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville, Tenn.
