Johnson City, TN - Bryan College Track and Field athletes had nine top five finishes at the annual Milligan Relays. The relays were hosted at Science Hill High School's Liberty Bell Track. Eight different schools were represented, including: Milligan and Montreat College from the AAC, Atlantic Sun Indoor Track Champion ETSU, Mars Hill, Lees-McRae, Carson Newman, and Tusculum College.

Junior Josh Bradley (Ringgold, GA) and freshman Bryson Harper (Pikeville, TN) finished second and third in the men's 1500 meter run behind ETSU's Kenneth Rotich. Both athletes set personal bests with efforts of 3:59.51 and 4:01.88. They were first and third in the men's 800 meter race, with performances of 1:56.79 and 1:59.16 after a slow opening quarter. Following them to the line in fourth and fifth position were sophomores Zach Buffington (Ooltewah, TN) and Colby Smith (Dayton, TN).
Junior Bailey Payne (Pikeville, TN) finished second in the women's 800 meter race with a school record performance of 2:31.63. Earlier in the day, she set a new personal best of 5:12.06 at 1500 meters.
Sophomore Drew Nunnelly (Cleveland, TN) had a 4th place finish in the men's 400 meter dash to go along with his 5th place in the 200.
"It was a great day by Bailey, who continues to make big improvements this spring. Josh looked great in the 1500 and was comfortable running from behind the slow early pace in the eight. I'm super pleased with Harper's performances on the day. It was good to shake some of the cobwebs off after not racing for nearly a year. All of our kids competed well today and seem excited about the racing that lies ahead," commented Head Coach Rodney Stoker.
The Lions will host the Bryan College Invite alongside Walker Valley High School on Friday, April 3rd. The meet will take place at Walker Valley, starting at 4:00 PM ET, and will have high school and collegiate/open races. The team will then travel to Sewanee University's Mountain Laurel Invitational the following day.
