The Lions traveled on Saturday to Lookout Mountain, GA to take on the Scots of Covenant College in a doubleheader. The Lions dropped both games on Saturday, but hope to win the 3rd game of the series this afternoon.
 
In the first game, the Lions were down 0-7 before scoring their 1st run in the 5th inning. Down 2-11 going into the final inning, the Lions were able to get 3 runs back but were then stopped. Bryan tallied a total of 9 hits. Will Newman and Ryan Henn accounted for 2 hits apiece. Reid Merwin had 2 of the teams RBIs. Zach Breazeale was the starting and losing pitcher for Bryan. He pitched 3 & 2/3 innings, giving up 7 runs on 9 hits and striking out 3. Ben Young came in and pitched the last 2 & 1/3 innings, giving up 4 runs on 4 hits.

In the second game, the Lions struck first by scoring 1 run in the top of the 3rd inning. However, the Scots scored 6 runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for the rest of the game. Brantley Hattrich had 2 of Bryan's 6 hits. Tyler Brown was the starting and losing pitcher for the Lions. He pitched 4 & 1/3 innings, giving up 7 runs on 8 hits. Daniel Zimmerman came in and pitched the last 1 & 2/3 innings and gave up only 1 hit.

The Lions are now 4-37 overall and 0-19 in the conference. They will try for that first conference win this afternoon at 4:00 PM ET at Covenant College.
