Bryan 2, Covenant 14

The baseball team traveled to Covenant yesterday to make up Friday's rained out game. Unfortunately, the game was finished after 7 innings as the Lions were down 2-14. Bryan was down 13 runs going into the 7th inning and only needed 4 runs to extend the game, but they were only able to get 1 run. 
 
The Lions tallied 8 hits, only 1 less than the Scots, for the game. Brantley Hattrich went 2-for-2 for the game. Reid Merwin, Drew Brown, Matt Hicks, Jordan Day, Doug Stroup, and Steven Brown had 1 hit apiece.
 
Mark Barnwell was the starting and losing pitcher for the Lions. He pitched the first 3 innings, giving up 7 runs on 4 hits. Daniel Zimmerman came in and pitched the next 1 & 2/3 innings, giving up 6 runs on 3 hits. Zach Gray pitched the final 1 & 1/3 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits.

The Lions are now 4-38 overall and 0-20 in the conference. They play again tomorrow at Lee University. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM ET.
