Dayton, Tenn. – Savannah Sosa, daughter of Rick and Barbara Sosa, is one of the latest additions to the Bryan College Cheer Team for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The Tampa, Fla. native attended Clarkrange High School (Tenn.) where she was a cheerleader for the Clarkrange Buffaloes and picked up the honors of Toughest and Most Easygoing Cheerleader.
Bryan College caught the eye of Sosa because she was interested in furthering her education at a Christian school, and after visiting she felt that Bryan was just the fit she was looking for.
"I want to continue my cheer career at Bryan, because I really like the quality of individuals on the team and the support the team provides to each other," said Sosa. "I believe I will be an asset to the team as I bring my encouraging personality and drive to see each person do their best."
Sosa plans on majoring in the highly recognized Pre-Med program at Bryan.
Head Bryan College Lions Cheer Coach, Janice Perron mentioned, "I am really excited about signing Savannah. She was able to visit several times this spring, and she fit right in with the team. She had a great attitude and was willing to do whatever she was asked. She was one of her high school's main bases, and I think she will be a strong base for the Lion team this fall. I'm happy God led her to Bryan, and I'm looking forward to what He has in-store for her in the future."
Tanner Stockton will be sporting the Bryan Lion Mascot outfit, having been the mascot in his hometown, Clarkrange, Tenn. where he also attended Clarkrange High School. Tanner is the son of Rick and Paula Stockton.
Stockton explained that he chose Bryan College because of the excellent education and the Christ-centered approach in all that the school does. "I look forward to being a part of a strong team that acts as a family," said Stockton.
Stockton will be studying Political Science in his time at Bryan.
"I am really happy to have Tanner joining the Lion team," remarked Coach Perron. "God worked amazing things to connect Tanner with Bryan. Tanner brings unique skills to the team and has a great attitude. I am excited to see how God uses Tanner this coming year."
