The Lions traveled to Bristol, VA, this past weekend to win a series over the Cobras of Virginia Intermont. Bryan won the 1st and 3rd games of the series, giving them 2 conference wins.
 
In the first game, the Lions won 11-5. The Cobras were able to match the Lions through the first 5 innings, but then the Lions took over outscoring them 8-2 in the last 4 innings. Bryan outhit V.I. 13-9. Reid Merwin and Brantley Hattrich each went 3 for 5, and Drew Brown and Ryan Henn each went 2 for 4 for the game. Daniel Zimmerman was the starting and winning pitcher for Bryan. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits. Zack Breazeale came in to pitch the next 2 & 2/3 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits. Ben Young came in and finished the last 1 & 1/3 innings, giving up no hits or runs.

The Lions dropped the middle game, losing 0-10 in five innings. Bryan only had 1 hit for the game compared to the Cobra's 15 hits. Matt Hicks had the one hit. Tyler Brown was the starting and losing pitcher for the Lions. He gave up 7 runs on 7 hits in just 1/3 an inning of work. Zach Gray came in and pitched the next 3 & 1/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits. Ben Young came in to try and keep the game going, but it was called early due to the 10-run deficit.

In the third game, the Lions attacked first by scoring a run in the first inning. They scored 4 insurance runs in the 6th inning, and the Cobras scored their one and only run in the 7th inning. Bryan outhit their opponents 7-5, with Will Newman having 2 of those 7 hits. Mark Barnwell was the winning pitcher for Bryan. He pitched all 7 innings, giving up only 1 run on 5 hits and having 3 strike outs.

The Lions are now 6-40 overall and 2-21 in the conference. They are scheduled to play again at home on Monday at 7:00 PM ET against the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs.
