Helen, Ga. – Junior Lady Lion, Christina Lee (JR/Loudon, Tenn.), led the scorers from Bryan College on the challenging Innsbruck Country Club in Helen, Ga. Lee fired an 89 and 92 for a 181 to finish in 22nd place at the Georgia Mountain Invitational, hosted by Truett McConnell University, that saw only two women record rounds in the 70s. This was a huge contrast compared to another Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament hosted only a week earlier at the Oaks in Covington, Ga. that saw over 35 women register rounds in the 70s and four women end in the 60s.
Bryan Head Coach, Peter Bollant commented, "I was proud of how Christina managed her game on the difficult Innsbruck Course. Several players commented that it was the most difficult course they had ever played. It presented a lot of unique challenges, and it also revealed areas of our games that need additional work. The nice thing about a course like this is that you can't get away with bad shots, so it shows us where we need improvement. With some key players out, it has required us to step up our game, and I'm proud of the way we are doing so. Tournament medalist, Courtney Lowery of Point, was again the medalist, and she showed that the course could be tamed shooting a pair of 72s to win by a whopping 16 strokes."
