Niota, Tenn. – The Bryan Lions Women's Golf team were led by junior Christina Lee (JR/Loudon, Tenn.) who fired a personal best 91 and 81=172 at the Spring Brook Country Club in the Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational Sept. 19-20. Lee's three birdies on the backside of the course in round two helped her record a personal low 18 holes and 36 hole total. She has stepped up in a big way to aid a Lady Lions team that has struggled with injuries. Bryan ended the tournament in 6th with a round one score of 378 and round two score of 349 for a 727 total.
On day 2, the Lions had three players improve their scores by at least 8 strokes with Lee dropping 10 strokes. Senior Liz Albert improved 8 strokes with a 97 and 89=186, and junior transfer, Helen Busch, also dropped 8 strokes finishing with a 95 and 87=182. As a team, Bryan bettered by nearly 30 strokes on the second day.
Bryan Head Coach, Peter Bollant, commented, "I was very proud of Christina and her strong performance on day 2. I was happy with getting three players in the 80s on day 2, and with the addition of Sarah Falcon this week and hopefully Krista Reinhardt (SO/Valrico, Fla.) before the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament, we should continue to add to our competitiveness. We've seen some great numbers fired by other teams in the AAC the past two weeks, so it will take some great rounds from our girls to move up this year."
