Waleska, Ga. – The Bryan Lions Men's Golf team finished strong on Day 2 of the Reinhardt Invitational held at Callahan Golf Links, but they were not able to overtake the defending Appalachian Athletic Conference champion Reinhardt team. It took a record setting performance from Reinhardt's Ben Dulin who won the medalist position with an outstanding 68 and 67= 135 (-9) to hold off the Lions, which finished runner-up in the tournament.
Bryan took three of the top spots on the All-Tournament Team with freshman, Brandon Noland, leading the way on the second day with a 2 under (70) to finish at 144 (even par) for the tournament. One stroke behind Noland were junior, Nick Scully (JR/Carelton, Mich.) (145) and senior, Tom Durbin (SR/Wildnes Chesire, England) (145) who both finished at one over par through the two days.
Bryan Head Coach, Peter Bollant said, "I was extremely pleased with our top three scores. It is the first time Bryan has been able to capture three spots on the All-Tournament Team. I am very impressed with the performance of freshman, Brandon Noland, who in only his 2nd collegiate tournament finished at even par. We are excited heading into the AAC Conference championship this week in Kentucky. To push the defending conference champion Reinhardt team on their home course shows how well we can contend for the crown. Reinhardt had to go deep to beat us with a record setting performance Dulin. It also shows the need for a deep team to win big tournaments, and we had the most players earn All-Tournament Team honors."
On Oct. 3-4, the Lions will be competing in the AAC Regular-Season Fall Championship at Wasiota Winds Golf Course in Pineville, Ky.
