The Lions hosted the Bluefield College Rams on Friday and Saturday for the last regular season series. Unfortunately, the Lions fell to the Rams in all three games.
 
In Friday night's game, Bluefield scored early by knocking in 2 runs in the first inning. The Lions fought back, getting one run back in the bottom of the first, and then tying the game in the third inning. However, the Rams scored 2 runs in the fourth and then 8 more in the ninth. The Lions tallied 6 hits, with Brantley Hattrich having 2. Daniel Zimmerman was the starting and losing pitcher for the Lions. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits while walking 5 and striking out 6. Tyler Brown pitched 2/3 of the ninth inning, giving up 8 runs on 7 hits. Ben Young came in to get the last out, giving up a hit before striking out a batter.

In the second game, the Rams scored in the top of the first, but the Lions took the lead by scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the inning. Bryan then scored another run in the second inning. Bluefield scored 2 in the fourth, followed by another run for the Lions in the bottom of the inning. With the Lions on top at 7-3 going into the fifth, things began to fall apart as they gave up 14 runs that inning. The Lions had 10 hits for the game, with Brantley Hattrich and Drew Brown having 2 apiece. Mark Barnwell was the starting and losing pitcher for the Lions. He pitched 4 & 1/3 innings, giving up 10 runs on 7 hits while striking out 4. Brantley Hattrich pitched 1/3 an inning, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits. Ben Young pitched the last 1/3 of the inning, giving up 3 runs on 1 hit.

In the third game, the Lions found themselves down 10 runs before scoring their 4 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, Reid Merwin hit a grand slam for the Lions only hit of the game. Zach Breazeale was the starting and losing pitcher for the Lions. He pitched 3 & 2/3 innings, giving up 8 runs on 11 hits. Patrick Miller came in and pitched the next 2 & 1/3 innings, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits.

The Lions finish the regular season 6-45 overall and 2-25 in the conference. Bryan will play again on Friday at 3:00 p.m. ET in an elimination game against Covenant College at Hunter-Wright Stadium in Kingsport, TN.
