ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Charlie Clarke (JR/Norwich, England) and Alex Horton (JR/Nuneaton, England) of Bryan College swept the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week awards, the league announced Monday.
This is the sixth edition of the weekly honors for the 2017 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Oct. 9.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Alex Horton - Bryan - Jr. - Nuneaton, England
Notched 12 saves and allowed only 1 goal in 2 games last week.
Shut out Union (RV) 3-0 in recording 1 save.
Posted 11 saves in a 3-1 win over Bluefield who entered the game 11-1 overall.
This is his first weekly honor this season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Charlie Clarke - Bryan - Jr. - Norwich, England
Tallied 3 goals and 2 assists on the week for 8 points.
Had a goal and 2 assists in a 3-0 win over Union (RV).
Found the back of the net twice in a 3-1 win over Bluefield.
His 10 scores this season currently leads the Lion's team & ranks him No. 2 in the AAC.
This is his second weekly award this season.
