Rome, GA - The Bryan College men's cross country program took the team title at the Berry College Invitational over the weekend. Junior Zach Buffington (Ooltewah, TN) and sophomore Bryson Harper (Pikeville, TN) led the way for the Lions with fourth (26:09) and fifth (26:11) place finishes over the eight-kilometer course. Bryan totaled 44 points to Columbus State University's 61 and third place finisher Shorter College's 89 points in the 20-team field.
Junior Josh Bradley (Ringgold, GA) was 8th in 26:35. Freshmen athletes Drew Thompson (Murfreesboro, TN), Alex Stephens (Cleveland, TN) and Jason McLeod (Ocoee, FL) secured the win with finishes of 12th (26:52), 16th (26:56) and 18th (27:02).
"It was nice to have Harper back in the mix this week. Buffington has elevated his running this fall and is becoming a great competitor. I'm excited with the way our freshmen handled the race and look forward to improving on a number of things in the coming weeks," stated Head Coach Rodney Stoker.
The Lions will be back in action when they travel to Louisville, KY, on October 3 for the Greater Louisville Classic.
