The Lions took on the Bearcats of Brescia University on Saturday for the annual Homecoming match. It was a beautiful day for both fellowship and soccer. The Lions defeated the Bearcats in overtime, 1-0.

The Lions controlled the game, but struggled getting the ball into the back of the net. Bryan outshot Brescia 28-3 (13-0 on goal). After 90 minutes of playing, the score was still 0-0. Overtime rules state that the teams play two 10-minute halves, but if someone scores then the game is over. In the 95th minute of the game, Markus Oettig scored a header off a ball served into the box by Taylor McFerran, ending the game and giving the Lions a 1-0 victory.
The Lions are now 4-5 overall and remain 2-1 in the conference. They play again on Wednesday at home against Covenant College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET, following the JV match against Covenant's JV squad.
