Louisville, KY - E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park played host, along with the Greater Louisville Sports Commission, over the weekend for the 2009 Louisville Cross Country Classic. The women of Bryan College took 11th out of 35 teams in the "Blue" division. Kentucky claimed the top-team spot, while Lindenwood's Francince Nzilampa claimed the individual crown.

Freshman Liz Olsen (Glenville, NY) and Catherine Anderson (Maple Grove, MN) led the Lions with 43rd and 57th place finishes. Olsen covered the 5k in 20:14, while Anderson clocked 20:36. Sophomore Ericka Simpson (Grayson, GA) came home in 20:50 for 73rd overall. Senior Bailey Payne (Pikeville, TN) and sophomore Alyssia Lindsay (Spring City, TN) finished in 21:02 and 21:09 for the 90th and 94th spots.
"The ladies improve each week and this week was no different. It was our best team average in the program's history so we are moving in the right direction. In three weeks we'll be back in Louisville again and should be a little higher in the results," stated Head Coach Rodney Stoker.
The Lions will travel to Louisville, KY, for the Southeastern Classic on October 24h
