Fresh off their win at Bluefield College on Friday, the Lady Lions traveled to UVA-Wise on Saturday and spoiled their home weekend with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-15) victory.
Sophomore OH Courtney Cotter paced the Lions to victory with a personal record 7 aces in the match, and led the Lion serving with 19 service points. The Lions served 15 aces throughout the match, keeping the host Cavaliers off-balance throughout. Bryan had balanced hitting, with 6 Lions hitting 4 or more kills. Ashley Sours was near-perfect, hammering 6 kills for a .857 pct, while JR OH Lauren Pratt hit .500, adding 6 kills. Libero Jessica Kaya led the defense with 15 digs.
The Lady Lions are now 13-1 in conference (21-12 overall) and will seek a share of their first regular season championship when they host Montreat College and Milligan College in competition Saturday, November 7. The team will travel for a final non-conference match at Birmingham-Southern on Wednesday, November 4, as a tune-up for the weekend.
