The Lions traveled to Bristol, TN, last night to take on former AAC opponent King College. It took a second overtime to decide the exciting and close game. Unfortunately, the Lions lost 2-3.
Bryan struck first as Reggie Parks scored in the 19th minute. The Lions went into halftime with a 1-0 lead. King scored their first goal in the 50th minute. Just a minute and a half later the Lions took the lead back when Markus Oettig found the back of the net. The Tornado equalized the score in the 60th minute on a penalty kick. Regulation ended with the score 2-2. The teams battled with neither scoring in the first overtime period. Just a minute and a half into the second overtime, King scored to end the game.
The Lions now finish the regular season 8-7. They finished 5-2 in the conference, which gave them a second place seed for the conference tournament. The Lions host their first round tournament game on Saturday against Bluefield College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm ET.
