On the back of senior right hander Ben Young, the Red Team shut down the offense of the White Team in World Series Game 2. Young went 8 innings allowing 2 unearned runs, striking out 7 in earning the victory. Freshman Josh Harris started the game on the mound for the White team, battling over the course of his 4 innings, allowing 4 runs, 2 of which were unearned, taking the loss.

Senior Pablo Rodriguez got Red going in the bottom of the 1st inning with an RBI single up the middle, to give White the 1-0 lead following an error by redshirt Sophomore Tyler Wooden. The Red team struck again in the fourth inning, following a triple by Freshman Justin McCarty and a passed ball by senior catcher Jon Brown to make it 2-0. Senior Daniel Zimmerman entered the game in the fifth after back to back walks by Harris, allowing both runners to score to make the game 4-0, Red Team. White's only attempt at a comeback came in the top of the 7th inning, in which Freshman right fielder Charles Corn had two errors, allowing runners to score. Young proved too difficult, however, and was able to slam the door shut getting out of the inning up 4-2. Junior center fielder Josh King put a lid on the White team's momentum by hitting a Ryan Hill breaking ball over the left center field wall for a two-run homerun to extend Red's lead back to 4. Red tacked on another run in the bottom of the 8th to make it a 5-run lead 7-2.
Redshirt Sophomore Kemonte Keesee did not allow White to threaten in the top of the 9th, allowing one base-runner and striking out one.
The series will resume on Wednesday night at 4:30pm ET, and features Junior right hander Zach Breault on the hill for the White Team and Freshman Taylor Gallimore will take the ball for the Red Team.
