The JV Team After Their Championship Game
Congratulations to the JV Men's Soccer Team! They won the Reserve League Tournament last night over Covenant College in double overtime.
 
The Lions traveled to Covenant College last night to play in the Championship game. #2 Bryan defeated #3 Tennessee Wesleyan last week 2-1, while #1 Covenant defeated Oglethorpe University 3-2 to earn their way into the championship. 
The Lions struck first, scoring late in the game; however, just a few minutes later the Scots scored an equalizer. Regulation ended with the score tied at 1-1. Neither team was able to capitalize in the first overtime, sending the match into a second overtime. The Lions scored just a few minutes in, ending the game and winning the Championship. Senior Forward Josh Maubach scored both goals for the Lions.
Both teams fought hard and played well. The fans were into the game cheering hard for their team, as it was a very exciting match to watch. 
The Lions won their last 3 games of the season to finish 5-3-2 and the 2009 Reserve League Tournament Champions!
