The #2 Lions took on the #3 Bulldogs from Union College in an AAC semifinal game. The game was played at a neutral field. The game took extra time to decide who would advance, but the Lions stepped up and took the match.
Both teams created opportunities to score throughout the game. The Lions created several more as they out shot their opponents 21-6. The Lions best chance to score came in the first half when they placed a shot on an open net just wide. The Bulldogs best chance came in the second half when one of their players got past the defense and had a one-on-one with the keeper. However, Bryan Goalkeeper Rodrigo Pigatto came up with a big save to keep the Lions in the game.
The Lion's goal came in the 99th minute of the game, just one minute left in the first overtime. Just named AAC Player of the Year the night before, center back Daniel O'Kane went on the attack and placing himself in the right place at the right time. O'Kane capitalized on a loose ball in front of the net, putting it in for the victory. Curt Hays had the assist.
The Lions play again tomorrow in the AAC Championship. They will take on #4 Montreat College, who defeated #1 Milligan College after Bryan's semifinal win. The game will take place at King College. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00pm ET.
