Vancouver, WA - The Bryan College men's cross country program finished 27th at the 53rd annual NAIA Cross Country National Championship. The Lions toed the line as the 9th ranked team in the country, but the performance they were looking for did not materialize. Malone University won their third consecutive title, while Oklahoma Christian's Silas Kisorio won the individual crown. Bryson Harper and Zach Buffington led the Lions with 67th and 71st place finishes over the eight-kilometer layout.
Freshmen newcomers Jason McLeod and Jake Bradley scored for the team, as they were 183rd and 200th respectively. Rounding out the scoring was Junior Josh Bradley, who finished 212th.
"It was a rough day for all the men, including me. We did not perform at the level expected for our program. I take full responsibility for the outcome, as I'm the one that has to have them prepared on the most important day of the season. We'll figure out what went wrong and move on to better days. Overall I'm pleased with each of our guys' progression and where this program is headed, as well as what they achieved this fall," said Head Coach Rodney Stoker.
