The Lady Lions played two matches on the first day of the NCCAA Division I National Championship Tournament. The 5th seeded Lady Lions defeated the 4th seeded Northwestern College, out of Minnesota, 3-2 (25-22, 12-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-9) and the 9th seeded Southeastern University, out of Florida, 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-17). 
Amber Smith led the Lady Lions in the two matches with 27 kills and 10 blocks. Ashley Sours added 14 kills (.500 pct) and helped with 10 blocks. Hannah Suits and Amanda Manke dished out 33 and 34 assists, respectively. In the first set against Southeastern, the Lady Lions tied a school record with 7 blocks.
 
The Lady Lions are now 30-15 overall. They continue pool play today with a 10:00am ET match against #1 seeded Mount Vernon Nazarene University (OH), and a 2:00pm ET match against King College (TN). The tournament is being held in Kissimmee, FL. Click here to watch the game live.
